Bicycle tour through the Alpenwelt Karwendel region

Tour description

The starting point of the tour is the parking lot at the Haus des Gastes in Wallgau. Pass the tennis court and turn left into Otenwanger Weg, continue over the Finzbrücke bridge and keep right at the fork in the road towards Barmsee. Shortly before the lake, turn left into the forest towards Krün. At the next fork, turn right over a bridge and continue on the road through the district of Barmsee. Go through the underpass to the campsite at Tennsee, pass it on the right and continue straight on to the railroad line. Turn left here, after a short ride on the asphalt road, keep right onto the gravel path and ride the steadily ascending path over the humpback meadows, past the Goas-Alm to the Schmalensee. From there, there is a short climb and a descent on the country road into the historic town center of Mittenwald. Here you head towards the train station, keep left and cross the level crossing. Continue straight ahead on Dammkarstraße, turn right over the Isar bridge and then keep left on the cycle path downstream, past the barracks in the direction of Krün. The cycle path continues to the right of the B 2, leading to the Seinsalm (not managed) and on to Krün along the forest road. Pass the Isar bridge in Krün and follow the path slightly downhill towards Wallgau. There you cross the Isarsteg and turn right onto the golf course circular path and thus reach the village center via the Isar cycle path. Once in the village, continue straight ahead on the B 11 for 200 m, turn right after the town hall and return to the starting point.
