To the north of the Karwendel lies the Soierngruppe, and to the north of this lies the Isar, which flows in a completely natural state towards Sylvensteinsee. Mountain bikers will find marvellous routes in this area. The tour to the Fischbachalm is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful routes in the region.

News: Please note that the path after the Fischbachalm in the direction of Fischbach - Vorderriss/Hinterriss is currently not passable for bicycles! Due to damage to the path in dangerous places, the route is currently closed to bicycles. Status: 11/2024

Tour description

The starting point is the parking lot in Gries, in Krün. From here, ride over the Isar bridge to the left. After a short while, the forest road branches; keep to the right here, following the signs leading toward the Fischbachalm alpine hut. The route climbs steadily, sometimes very steeply, until you reach the Fischbachalm alpine hut at about 1,407 meters, in the unique Soiern region. The Fischbachalm alpine hut is operated part-time during the summer months (July and August) – please take note of the daily posting.

Alternative routes & other tips

Bike & Hike – for those who haven't had enough after reaching the Fischbachalm alpine hut, we recommend taking a pair of hiking boots along and climbing to the picturesque Soiernhaus lodge (1,616 m) via the notable Lakaiensteig – there are lodging options there, as well.
