The bike and hike tour to the Halleranger Alm is certainly one of the most scenic appealing routes in the Karwendel Mountains. You follow the Isar to the springs in the unique Hinterautal and experience the alpine nature and countless possibilities in the Alpenwelt Karwendel. We leave the bike at the Kastenalm and hike the last stretch to the Halleranger.
The bike and hike tourto the Halleranger Alm at 1,768 metres starts at the Mittenwald
railway station and first leads via the Innsbrucker Straße to the nearby nature reserve Riedboden. After a short drive, you reach the neighbouring village of Scharnitz, which is known as the starting point for all tours into the Karwendel valleys. Past the Gasthof Wiesenhof(no refreshment stop)the ride begins in the Hinterautal, which offers hikers and bikers glorious nature experiences. The route leads slightly uphill along the still young Isar and you soon reach the first Isar springs and the rustic Kastenalm. From there on, it is no longer permitted to continue by bike in the direction of Halleranger, as it becomes very steep. Especially the first ascent towards Halleranger is quite steep, so sturdy hiking boots are recommended. After a few more climbs, the destination of the tour - the Halleranger Alm - is reached and a hearty snack rewards your guests for the exertions.
