Brunnsteinhütte is located at 1,560 metres and offers unique views of the Upper Isar Valley as well as the surrounding mountain ranges. The Alpine Club hut near Mittenwald is popular both as an excursion destination and as a stopover for multi-day tours. Brunnsteinhütte is characterised above all by sustainable and environmentally friendly operation as well as the use of regional products of the highest quality. The cosy hut is particularly appreciated by families with children, thanks to numerous animals and a playground next to the large terrace.
Brunnsteinhütte can be reached from Hoffeld to the south of Mittenwald in around 1 ½ hours. The Leitersteig is a little more demanding and also leads across the suspension bridge at Sulzle Gorge on the way to Brunnsteinhütte. From the Karwendel railway mountain station, mountaineers can reach Brunnsteinhütte either via Heinrich-Noe-Steig or the Mittenwald via ferrata.
