Elmauer Alm, built in 1924, belongs to the world famous Schloss Elmau in Alpenwelt Karwendel and lies on a mountain ridge at roughly 1,200 metres, offering impressive views of the Wetterstein mountains with Germany's highest summit - the Zugspitze (2,962 m). Elmauer Alm is open in nice weather and is particularly popular as a cosy excursion destination for both holidaymakers and locals visitors. Here, refreshing drinks and typical Bavarian dishes ensure the physical well-being of hikers and visitors.
Elmauer Alm at 1,203 metres can be reached from the hiking car park in Elmau (45 minutes) or from Klais (1 ½ hours). Hikers can also walk through the "Eckbauer" hiking region by Garmisch-Partenkirchen from Elmauer Alm.
