Fischbachalm lies at 1,400 metres, on a small valley floor below the high Grasberg halfway up to Soiernhaus, with a marvellous view of the Soiern mountains.
The cosy Alpine pasture is opened by herdsmen in summer and serves homemade bread, cakes and fine snacks to mountain climbers, hikers and mountain bikers.
Fischbachalm is also appreciated by families with children thanks to the many animals around the popular retreat.
Fischbachalm can be reached from the Isar bridge hiking car park in Krün or from Wallgau (Isarsteig) in about 2 hours.
