Hike to the Maria Rast chapel near Krün

Tour description

The starting point for this hike is the center of Krün, accessible by the bus stop "Ortsmitte Krün" or the hikers' parking lot on Krottenkopfstraße. Walk in the direction of the church, turn right into Feldstraße and then immediately left into Reiterspitzstraße. Follow the signs in the direction of the Maria Rast chapel, along the edge of the meadows and forest, through the underpass. From here, take a short climb through the sparse woodland to the chapel, which is located on the unique Buckelwiesen geotope, the "hummock meadows." Benches in front of the chapel also offer a place to rest. For the way back, follow the signs on Hochstraße back to Krün.
