There is a lot to see at the mountain station of the Karwendelbahn. At 2,244 metres above sea level, you can enjoy the view down into the Isar valley to the Mittenwald, to Krün and Wallgau, to the Zugspitze with the Wettersteingebirge, to the Alpine foothills and small mountain lakes. Germany's highest nature information centre, the "Bergwelt Karwendel", is located right next to the mountain station and is a sign of sustainable engagement in sensitive nature.
In the winter, experienced off-piste skiers appreciate the seven-kilometre descent through the legendary Dammkar, Germany's longest unprepared ski route. It is regularly voted among the most spectacular slopes in the Alps, but is reserved for absolute experts.
