Our "Mittenwald-Lodge":

It's a totally separate, comfy-cosy lodge-type flat, covering the whole attic of a renovated 90 years old country house in traditional Bavarian style. Even if an "old house", it is equipped with all of the modern appliances, from Kabel-TV & DVD collection etc over Micro-Wave\ Oven & Dishwasher\ Washer-Dryer up to E-Grill\ Raclette & Internet via WiFi and Android-TV...

We offer 2 bedrooms (one with a 2m bunkbed, and the main one with a queensize double bed), a bathroom with tube\ shower\ WC\ wash-dryer, a separate 2nd WC, and a fully equipped kitchen with dining place adjacent to the living room. A snuggly tile stove (for experts only!!) can support the central heating. Our secluded Loggia, connected to the living room and to the main bedroom, offers a breethtaking panoramic NE to SW view at the adjacent mountains ("Karwendel", 2400m, cable car) and across Mittenwald town up to the central Alps.

Our Location:

Our fully secluded, slightly elevated "Mittenwald Lodge" can be found near to Mittenwald's historical center "Gries" (913m a.s.l., known for more than 1000 years as "Media Silva", and more than 2000 years as a station at the Roman "Via Claudia"). Located about 100km south of Munich in the Bavarian part of the Alps, Mittenwald is a well-known all-season sport and health ressort, between Garmisch-Partenkirchen\ Germany (20km) and Innsbruck\ Austria (30km). Mittenwald ist famous because of it's violin makers, it's traditional architecture and house Fresco's, and it's historical town center. but most of all because of it's rich and impressive mountains & lakes around, well suited for hiking, climbing, biking, rafting, fishing, swimming, golfing, paragliding, mountain carting (and skiing, free-riding, cross-country skiing, curling at wintertime) etc.

In walking distance to our "Mittenwald-Lodge" there are shops, saloons, restaurants, bars, parks, lakes, sport facilities, several events, travel-shops offering guided tours, the railway station, cable cars etc, see e.g. Mittenwald's website for details. On the town map or at Google Maps you may find us as "Landhaus Bergglueck", email "bergglueck@gmx.de", below of and near to the basic station of the "Kranzberg Sessellift", a chair-lift to enter conveniently the Kranzberg Hiking & Skiing area.

Around Mittenwald:

Excellent street and railway connections (eg 10 trains to Munich, 7 to Innsbruck) make Mittenwald a well suited base to visit Bavaria and Tirol,  including their neighborhood, from Munich\ Germany to Venice\ Italy, and from Salzburg\ Austria to St Moritz\ Switzerland.

And it takes years to visit all the famous places and ressorts there, like the Bavarian lakes (eg Starnberger See, Ammersee, Chiemsee etc), the famous castles, monasteries, and churchesnd (eg Neuschwanstein, Linderhof, Ettal, Wieskirche etc), the Tirolian Alpine hiking & skiing areas (eg Karwendel, Lechtaler, Stubaier, Zillertaler, Ötztaler, Dolomiten etc) and the big number of additional attractions, waiting for "discovery". Many of them can be reached by walking & biking or by train & bus (several guided tours available!), but all of them are in reach of a day tour by car! - Auf geht's!
