Tour description

After an overnight stay at Lake Achensee, you cycle around the Karwendel in the north, first on the Via Bavarica Tyrolensis cycle path and then on the historic Soiernweg, the feeder route for the Soiernhäuser built by King Ludwig II. There are also fantastic panoramic views of the Rofan Mountains and the Soiern Group, the wonderful ride along Lake Achensee, swimming opportunities in Lake Sylvensteinsee and the ascent to the Fischbachalm, which is challenging in parts and also technically demanding. At 70 kilometres, the stage is very long and although two thirds of the route looks almost flat, there are still plenty of metres in altitude. However, if you set off early from Lake Achensee and allow enough time, you will enjoy this tour to the full.
Please note that the route between the Fischbachalm and Vorderriss is very challenging in places and occasionally includes stretches where you have to carry your bike!
