Start: Center of Krün - Destination: Schöttlkarspitze
Thanks to unique panoramic views, the mountain hike from Krün to the 2,050 meter-high Schöttlkarspitze is easily one of the most beautiful summit hikes the Alpenwelt Karwendel has to offer for experienced mountain climbers. Enjoy alpine diversity at over 2,000 meters...
The starting point of this challenging, partially high-alpine mountain hikeis the center of Krün, accessible by the bus stop "Ortsmitte Krün". At the Maypole, you take the Schöttlkarspitzstraße to the city hall, then continue down the mountain towards the Isar. Beyond the Isar bridge, take a quick right and then left onto a climb to the Schwarzkopf vantage point; climbing continually, first proceed through the forest and, later, through the mountain pines up to the Seinskopf, where you will find a splendid view of Krün. Then climb down to the other side in the high-alpine landscape, along the south side of the Feldernkreuz to the left. From there, make a short ascent and keep to the left toward the Schöttlkarspitze. The climb (approx. 5 hrs.) will take you by the Soiernhaus lodge (refreshment stop), the Lakaiensteig (surefootedness and a head for heights required) or Hundstall (easier version) to the Fischbachalm alpine hut (operated part-time) and then back to the center of Krün.
