Start: Center of Krün - Destination: Schöttlkarspitze Krün
This challenging but wonderful mountain hike first leads from Krün to the Soiernhaus lodge (1,616 m), then on to the Schöttlkarspitze (2,050 m) – one of the most beautiful panoramic
summits in the Alpenwelt Karwendel region. There, mountain climbers will enjoy a marvelous view of the two Soiernsee lakes, the entire Soiern region as well as the numerous peaks of the Karwendel mountain region...
The starting point of this mountain hike is the center of Krün, accessible by the bus stop "Ortsmitte Krün". At the Maypole, you take the Schöttlkarspitzstraße to the city hall, then continue down the mountain towards the Isar. Once over the Isar bridge, first go left on the forest road for a short while, between the Isar riverbed to the left and the forested slopes of the Soiern mountains to the right, arriving on the forest road to the Fischbachalm alpine hut (operated part-time) following some steep ascents. After arriving at the alpine hut, stay to the left and continue the mountain hike on the forest trail. Follow this down into the "Hundstall" valley floor. From here, the ascent leads you up through the clearing forest again. At the trail junction shortly before the lodge, stay to the right to reach the Soiernhaus lodge up several steps. Continuing from the Soiern basin over the narrow climb (surefootedness required) will take you to the Schöttlkarspitze in about 1.5 hours. Once at the summit, enjoy the peace and the wonderful panorama of the Alpenwelt region. You can descend back to the center of Krün via the Seinskopf and Schwarzkopf.
