The hiking tour over the Wörnersattel to the Hochlandhütte near Mittenwald begins at the hiking car park north of Mittenwald, near the two barracks. Now hikers first follow the gravel road to the Aschauer Alm (not managed). There the so-called "Jägersteig" begins and runs along a small gorge through the mountain forest. At the end of the Jägersteig the dry stream bed of the Sandbach is crossed and you follow the road in the direction of the Vereiner Alm to the highest point. Here, mountain hikers turn right into the forest and follow the serpentine path, which leads up to the Wörnersattel at 1,989 metres. From here, the descent begins down to the Hochlandhütte. Return to the valley from the Alpine Club hut via the Obere Kälberalm (not managed)and the footpath above the Gassellahnbach, which leads to the starting point of the tour.
