Winter hike along the Isar from Krün

Tour description

Start at the "Im Gries" hikers' car park in Krün, which can be reached in a few minutes from the "Ortsmitte" bus stop. Pass the town hall, cross the canal bridge at the end of the Griesweg and you will find the car park. After crossing the Isar bridge, turn right onto the Isar Nature Experience Trail. The varied trail leads past the Isar reservoir until after about 4 kilometres you reach the Seinsbach stream. Continue over a wooden bridge and follow the hiking signs in the direction of Mittenwald.
After another 2 kilometres you reach the Karwendel barracks. Past the Muli memorial, you again go left of the Isar on tarred footpaths until you cross the Isar again at the second bridge. Turn left along the Dammkarstraße to Mittenwald railway station.
