Winter hike through Riedboden and farmland near Mittenwald

One of the loveliest and perhaps most beautiful winter hikes in the Alpenwelt Karwedel region leads through the Riedboden conservation area and the farmland on the opposite side of the Isar river. The starting point of this winter hike is the parking lot at Riedboden, south of Mittenwald. The cleared, flat winter walking path first leads to the south along the Isar river, and later through the snow-covered forests between Mittenwald and Scharnitz in Tirol. After the large bend in the Riedboden, hikers will turn to the right and follow the trail over the Isar bridge into the neighboring farmland. The hiking trail proceeds through numerous fields, back toward Mittenwald At the end of the farmland, cross to Innsbrucker Straße and you will reach the starting point, the parking lot in Riedboden, in about 10 minutes.
