An extended winter hike on the Hoher Kranzberg promises wintertime fun for the whole family in the deep snow. This interesting loop leads from the base station of the Kranzberg chair lift to the Kranzberg summit (1,391 m) and back to the starting point via the Lautersee lake.
This winter hike to the summit of Hoher Kranzberg (1,391 m) near Mittenwald begins at the base station of the Kranzberg chair lift. The winter hiking trail 830 begins directly adjacent to the base station and leads up to the Saint Anton alpine tavern (1,223 m), where refreshments are available. After visiting the alpine tavern, hikers will continue to follow the ascent to the Kranzberg summit (1,391 m), which can be reached in about 1 ½ hours. Here, you can enjoy the unique view of the mountain peaks of the Karwendel range and then begin the descent back to the St. Anton alpine tavern and on down through the snow-covered alpine forest of the Kranzberg to the Lautersee lake. Hikers can return to the base station of the Kranzberg chair lift either via the Geological Educational Trail or the picturesque Laintal valley.
