The Karwendel is a mountain range on the northern side of the Alps. One part of it is located on the Austrian side in Tirol, the other part is located here in Bavaria. In the west the Karwendel extends from the Isar valley to Seefeld in Tyrol, in the north to the Isarwinkel and the Sylvensteinspeicher and in the east to the lake Achensee. To the south, the Inn valley separates the Karwendel from the main ridge of the Alps. Well-known larger towns along the Karwendel are Mittenwald
, Seefeld in Tyrol, Pertisau, Innsbruck.
From the Alpenwelt Karwendel the panorama is starting from the east over the Soiern mountains with Soiern- and Schöttlkarspitze above Krün
to the northern Karwendel chain. There Wörner, Tiefkarspitze, Western Karwendelspitze, Viererspitze, Linderspitze and behind them Brunnsteinspitze rise into the sky. To the southwest you can see the enormous massif of the Wetterstein up to the Zugspitze, the highest mountain of Germany. To the northwest, Krepelschrofen and the Krüner and Wallgauer Alm lead the view to the Estergebirge with the peaks of the Krottenkopf, Simetsberg next to Wallgau
, Heimgarten and Herzogstand. So you have the choice - let's go!
